Reflexology or Zone Therapy is an alternative medicine based on a system of zones and reflex areas on the feet, hands and ears.

The therapy aims for a physical change of the body by applying pressure to certain zones of the feet, hands or ears.

An initial consultation includes a full assessment of the physical body through a general health questionnaire as well as palpation and skin examination of the feet. The first treatment is included in the initial consultation.

The first session will take an hour while the following treatments are 45 minutes.

I recommend follow up treatments run over 4-6 weeks depending on the status of your current issue or the area you want to improve, in order to really make a change of your physical, mental and spiritual state.

I can also integrate reflexology into your massage enhanced with our high quality Aromatherapy oils to optimise the outcome of your treatment .

If you have been injured or are lacking energy, reflexology can help to restore and balance your body into healing itself.

It is useful for treating stress, anxiety, back pain, migraine, poor digestion, respiratory problems, asthma, headache, bladder problems, menopausal syndromes and period pain.

In addition, you can be also introduced to a self-managed technique of reflexology where you are able to work on a few zones yourself in between your regular treatments.

Another way to optimise the results of a reflexology treatment is Aromatherapy. While treating the feet with zone therapy you apply a targeted essential oil to the dedicated areas of the feet and you will perform even better and have taken an additional approach to fix an issue.

So overall there are different ways to improve your health. Reflexology takes a holistic approach and in addition high quality essential oils can even further improve the results.

Reflexology

History:

William H. Fitzgerald M.D. introduced reflexology to the US in 1913. In the 1930s and 40s it was modified by Eunice D. Ingham, an American nurse and physiotherapist.

Later on Hanne Marquard, a German nurse, massage therapist and homeopath, became the pioneer of European reflexology. She invented the Reflexology technique as a physical therapy for hospitals and rehabilitation clinics.

In 1975 she revealed her book: “Reflexology Treatment of the feet”. As the most experienced reflexologist in Europe, she further developed and reformed reflexology and thanks to her efforts this health modality has become widely known in Europe.
